Liz Hurley and her husband are facing a barrage of criticism from the British press after her maid claims that the multimillionaire family pays her not only well under the minimum wage, but in the wrong currency.

Actress Elizabeth Hurley and her husband are taking a beating from the British press after reports were published claiming the multimillionaire couple pays their Indian maid just $2.33 an hour.
Both the Daily Mail and Mirror tabloids in Britain ran reports claiming that the ‘Austin Powers’ actress paid her 31-year-old maid, Violet D’Souza, just $200 for a 70-plus-hour workweek. The reports also claim D’Souza was paid in Indian rupees, not British pounds
The claims were supposed to be taken to an employment tribunal, but reports say they were canceled as a five-figure settlement was being reached.
This isn’t the first controversy for Hurley and her husband, Arun Nayar. When the two married in March of 2007, rumors of familial scandal emerged, with Nayar’s Indian family reportedly refusing to accept the British Hurley as a part of their family.
