Jennifer Lopez wins the battle of the mums on the red carpet of Brad’s new film

Film fans in Hollywood could have been forgiven for thinking the Oscars had come to town early with the sheer volume of A-listers hitting the red carpet last night.

The premiere of Brad Pitt’s latest film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button drew a host of stars including Jennifer Lopez, Cate Blanchett, Eva Longoria, Tilda Swinton, Angelina Jolie and the man himself.

The star-studded event turned out to be the battle of the red carpet mums as new mothers J.Lo, Angelina and Cate showed off their post-baby curves to photographers.

Angelina: Twins Personalities Are Starting to Shine

angelina_jolie1Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s twins may be only four months old, but they’re already characters of their own.

“They’re great. They’re still so little, but they do [have their own personalities],” Jolie told reporters at the DVD launch for Kung Fu Panda and the premiere of its companion adventure story, Secrets of the Furious Five in Hollywood on Sunday.

Knox and Vivienne are “starting to get very smiley,” their proud mom said. “They’re at that [stage] where their personality really starts to shine.”

As for the rest of the brood, they share a love of their mom’s work. “I think it’s a great film, and it’s brought a lot of joy to children – and to my children, absolutely,” Jolie told people at the event. “My kids love it. They’re very very proud, they’ve got mom [Tigress] dolls.” Read the rest of this entry »

Angelina Jolie: We Do Have a Family Plan

With six kids in the brood and thoughts of adopting another, Angelina Jolie can only imagine what people must be thinking.

“I mean, I know we seem crazy, just bringing them in one after the other, but we do plan,” she tells the New York Times. “We make sure one is absorbed completely into the family before we add another.”

And as each child grows up and becomes Internet-savvy, Jolie, 33, sees even more challenges ahead for her and partner Brad Pitt, 44. “There’s a lot we’re going to have to explain to them about how public their family is,” she says.

But there’s good with that bad. “What’s going to be funny is when they think Mom and Dad are a little bit cool,” she says. “Because right now, we’re not cool Mom and Dad.” Read the rest of this entry »

Angelina’s Artful Outing

Angelina Jolie takes Zahara, Maddox and Pax Thien on a Saturday shopping spree to Lee’s Art Shop in midtown Manhattan.

Angelina Debuts New Tattoos

As could be expected, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt proved quite an eyeful at Saturday’s New York premiere of her new movie. Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood.

But, in fact, there was even more to meet the eye on the leading lady: two new tattoos – to complement her ink indicating global birth coordinates of children Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh.

Jolie has had the July 12 French birthplace of twins Knox and Vivienne enscribed twice on her left shoulder beneath the latitude and longitude of their other children.

Brad Pitt Gives $100,000 to Fight Gay Marriage Ban

The same week he and Angelina Jolie pledged $2 million to help fight tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia, Brad Pitt has given $100,000 to stop a California ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage – the largest donation so far from a prominent individual in the entertainment industry, reports Variety.

“Because no one has the right to deny another their life even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8,” Pitt, who gave to the group Californians Against Eliminating Basic Rights, said in a statement. Brad & Angelina’s Family Album

DOUBLE HAPPINESS

“An awe words fail to describe,” dad Brad Pitt tells people about his reaction to seeing twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline for the first time after being born via cesarean section on July 12. And mom Angelina Jolie, who was worried because they were premature, breathed a sigh of relief when “I saw they were big and screaming with healthy lungs. I was at peace.”

‘HER BABIES’

No longer the baby of the famiy, 2-year-old Shiloh (pointing at Knox) has embraced her role as big sister. “Shiloh calls them her babies,” says Jolie. “She and Z (Zahara, 3) pick out their clothes and help change and hold them.”

WHAT’S IN A NAME

“The name Vivienne came to us early, as if she named herself – she has always been Viv,” says Pitt of his new daughter (left). “And Marcheline is to honor Angie’s mother. Knox came soon after. It is a family name, my grandfather’s. Léon is a classic French name.”

THE SIX-PACK

Having six children is “chaos, but we are managing it and having a wonderful time,” says Jolie (with Pax, 4, Viv, Zahara, Knox and Shiloh, who’s lying on top of Maddox, 7). Luckily, the couple is getting help from Grammy and Papa – a.k.a. Pitt’s parents, Jane and Bill, who are staying with them at the Château Miraval in Provence, France.

MOMMY INSTINCT

Shiloh (holding Viv) and Zahara are “little mommies” to the twins, says Jolie. “Viv is proving to resemble Ange in spirit, attitude and physicality,” says Pitt. “And Knox, a bit of me.”

SHOWERED WITH AFFECTION

Always the life of the party in the Jolie-Pitt clan, Zahara has become a nurturing sister to Viv (in foreground) and Knox. “My mom loved being a mom and made sure her children knew every day how much joy we brought to her,” says Jolie. “I hope to give that to my kids.”

BIG BROTHERS

Maddox (left, cradling Viv while Pax checks out Knox) is the informal leader of the six-pack. “This is Mad’s fourth/fifth time becoming an older bro. He’s asking us when we can have more,” says Pitt.

ONE-ON-ONE

To help prepare the kids for the twins’ arrival, Jolie and Pitt had Pax (with little brother Knox) and his siblings watch “a Dora the Explorer where Dora’s mom has twins – a boy and a girl,” says Jolie. “They watched that a lot. They were excited.”

KIDS WILL BE KIDS

Pax and Zahara love to play hide-and-seek on the château grounds while the twins – who are on the same schedule, breast-feeding every three hours (”It gets a little crowded at the bar,” jokes Pitt) – take naps.

LOVE SCENE

“Wanting a big family is one of the things that brought us together,” says Jolie (with Viv, left, and Knox). Agrees Pitt: “Always said if I were to do it, I’d do it big.”
