American Idol Down to a Pretty Fine Nine

The tables have turned on American Idol, as R&B night produced more rhythm and less blues than we’d seen in awhile this season.

Sure, Crystal Bowersox remained the gold standard, Siobhan Magnus the wild card (too wild last night) and Tim Urban the lucky loser whose unlikely run has extended all the way to a spot on the Idols Live tour this summer. Read the rest of this entry »

The rock singer managed a huge smile as he punched his fist in the air for fans as he headed home after the results show.

Simon Cowell lost his first act this series when Jamie, 34, lost to Lloyd Daniels in a public vote following their sing-off.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell lends tearful Eoghan his private jet to fly home to see baby sister

Simon Cowell is lending X Factor favourite Eoghan Quigg his private jet to fly home to Ireland so he can see his new baby sister tomorrow.

The 16-year-old broke down in tears yesterday and was so upset he still hadn’t seen his mother Denise or his new baby sis Chrissie-Mia.

So TV’s Mr Nasty showed an altogether less nasty side by lining up his most prized possession for the young singer.

A friend of Eoghan revealed : ‘He is so emotional-over the new addition to his family. He is so close to his mum so it was breaking his heart that he couldn’t see her or his new baby sister.

Cheryl’s shock as X Factor favourite Laura White is booted off the show

Cheryl Cole was unusually lost for words when her protegee Laura White – who had been thought to be one of the favourites – was voted off The X Factor last night.

The 21-year-old from Bolton went head-to-head with Spaniard Ruth Lorenzo, 25, after coming in the bottom two of the public phone voting.

Shock: After being tipped to win, Cheryl Cole’s protegee Laura White was voted off after a sing-off with Ruth Lorenzo

Saturday’s Mariah Carey-themed show had got off to a bad start for the Girls Aloud singer, who found out just hours before the live broadcast that her contestant Diana Vickers, 17, was too ill to sing.

After being struck down with laryngitis, a specialist told her she could risk damaging her voice forever if she performed.

And it had seemed to be going well for Laura as she performed Endless Love on the piano as well as vocals – the only X Factor contestant to play an instrument. Read the rest of this entry »

Simon Cowell’s Ex: ‘I’ll Always Love Him’

Former model Terri Seymour says there will always be a special place in her heart for reality TV’s Mr. Mean.

“You know, I’ll always love Simon,” Seymour tells Britain’s Daily Mail of her ex-beau, Idol judge Simon Cowell. “When you’ve been with someone that long, you can’t help it.”

The British couple spent six years together but only revealed the split on Nov 1. Since then Cowell has sworn he has kicked the female habit.

“Don’t worry about me,” he said four days later. “I don’t need a lonely hearts ad. I’m off women now.”

But if he ever reconsiders, Cowell may just get to see more of Seymour.

“I’ll always have a special place in my heart for him, but it was time to move on,” she adds.

Seymour, who was once a Wheel of Fortune host and now presents for Extra, also reveals the Cowell who means the most to her – his mom. “I’ll tell you who I’ll really miss – his mum, Julie. She’s a lovely lady, and so much fun,” says Seymour. “When we split up, she said to me, ‘You’ll always be my little girl – I adore you.'”

After reaching the number one spot with her single “Bleeding Love,” the 22-year-old has become hot property in the States and has been invited to appear in front of around 25 million viewers on American Idol.

Leona Lewis’ star is shining bright in America. Not only has the pop sensation stormed to the top of the US charts, major record bosses are fighting to sign her following the success of hit single “Bleeding Love.”

Music industry experts are reporting that a recording, concert and merchandising package could put the young former waitress from Hackney on par with music legend Madonna.

The estimated deal is said to be worth £50 million over a five-year period.

Leona’s US record boss, Clive Davis, famous for making stars of Whitney Houston and Kelly Clarkson, is believed to be “thrilled” to be able to tear up the £4.5 million, five-album deal Leona signed last year.

An invitation to appear on “American Idol,” watched by around 25 million people each week, signals the extent that the pretty 22-year-old has taken the States by storm.

Currently in New York, Leona is eagerly waiting for boyfriend Lou Al-Chama and her family to jet across the pond and join her for a champagne bash this week. Her mentor Simon Cowell is also expected to take part in the celebrations, says the Sunday Express.

“Everything’s happening so fast, Leona’s in a whirl right now. What she’s really, really looking forward to, more than anything else, is her big reunion with Lou,” a friend of the X-Factor star told the newspaper.
